Signing a Cooperation and Partnership Agreement between The University of Batna 2 and Al-Manar University (Tunisia

The University of Batna 2 received a delegation from Al-Manar University (Tunisia), led by the University President, Professor Al-Mouaiz Al-Shafra, Professor Noureddine Hamadouni, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Professor Shaker Al-Sid, the Head of the Computer Science Department. They were welcomed by the Rector of the University of Batna 2, Professor Hacene Semadi, and university officials and professors. The delegation had the opportunity to explore the educational facilities and structures within the university’s faculties and institutes. During a work meeting and roundtable discussion, the delegation from Al-Manar University provided a comprehensive presentation about their intellectually rich university, scientific specializations, research laboratories, and high international rankings. They also introduced the Faculty of Science and the training programs in computer science and information technology.
In his speech, the President of Al-Manar University expressed his deep appreciation for the warm reception at Batna 2 University and commended the educational and scientific facilities on the campus. He visited the Central Library, the Audiovisual Center, the Information Technology Center, the Monitoring Center, the White Room, and the Medical Simulation Center at the Faculty of Medicine. The visit concluded with signing a cooperation and partnership agreement between the two universities and the Computer Science Department and Faculty. Both the Rector of Batna 2 University and the President of Al-Manar University emphasized the need to effectively implement the terms of this agreement to enhance collaboration, including the exchange of scientific expertise and students, and strengthening the partnership. Notably, the Computer Science Department at the University of Batna 2 offers study fields that are in line with global trends, such as data science and artificial intelligence, and is supported by a state-of-the-art Data Center, comparable to those in advanced universities.
This agreement opens new horizons for scientific research collaboration between Algeria and Tunisia and aims to improve the global rankings of universities by leveraging the outcomes of this agreement. It’s worth mentioning that the University of Batna 2 achieved a prestigious global ranking in Times Higher Education (THE) rankings for its scientific research. Professor Hacene Semadi, the Rector of The University of Batna 2, was awarded the Merit Medal by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the University National Symposium.
