Raising Awareness on Breast Cancer: A Special Event at Batna 2 University
As part of the ongoing efforts to raise awareness about breast cancer, Batna 2 University hosted a special awareness event on October 24, 2024, in the lecture hall of the central library, focusing on the importance of early detection of this disease. The event was attended by the University Director, the Vice Rector for External Relations, as well as a number of professors and academic staff, reflecting the significance of the topic and the institution’s commitment to promoting health awareness among students and the community.
The event featured valuable interventions from several doctors and specialists in the field, including, among others, Professor Hamizi Kamel and Professor Bafal Ammar. They addressed various aspects of breast cancer, from early detection methods to prevention and treatment strategies. These lectures sparked great interaction from the students and attendees, who expressed their deep interest in the subject by asking several questions, demonstrating an increasing awareness of the importance of early screening in saving lives.
At the end of the awareness day, the guest speakers were welcomed in the University Director’s office, where they were given special recognition and thanks for their efforts in spreading awareness about the disease. The Director expressed his best wishes for their success in their scientific and professional careers, emphasizing the importance of continuing such events to spread knowledge and promote public health.
This event is part of the broader campaign during October, known as “Pink October,” which aims to raise awareness about breast cancer and support those affected by the disease.
