Announcement for the Benefit of University Hospital Professors and Candidates for the Title of Distinguished University Hospital Professor and Distinguished Professor

In accordance with the announcement issued on October 7, 2024, on the Ministry’s official website regarding the opening of applications for the award of the titles of Distinguished University Hospital Professor and Distinguished Professor, it is hereby announced to all University Hospital Professors and Professors that the deadline for submitting application files via the digital platform has been extended until Saturday, November 23, 2024, at midnight.

For University Hospital Professors and Professors who retired before December 31, 2023, they may submit their application files for the award of the title of Distinguished University Hospital Professor and Distinguished Professor as an honorary title through the following link: http://services.mesrs.dz/Emeritat.

Eligibility Criteria for the Title of Distinguished University Hospital Professor (Honorary Title):

University Hospital Professors who retired before December 31, 2023, and who completed at least twenty (20) years of actual service in this capacity during their active career, including ten (10) years as Head of a University Hospital Service or Head of Department for Professors in the basic medical specialties, in addition to scientific and pedagogical production since their appointment as University Hospital Professor.

Eligibility Criteria for the Title of Distinguished Professor (Honorary Title):

Professors who retired before December 31, 2023, and who completed at least twenty (20) years of actual service in this capacity during their active career, in addition to scientific and pedagogical production since their appointment as Professor.

The application file must include the following documents:

  1. Administrative Documents:
    • A copy of the decision appointing the candidate to the grade of University Hospital Professor or Professor, along with a copy of the decision appointing them as Head of a University Hospital Service or Head of Department for Professors in the basic medical specialties.
    • A recent work certificate indicating the candidate’s status as a University Hospital Professor or Professor, showing the appointment date and the retirement date, signed by the Director of the university institution where the candidate was retired.
    • A recent function certificate indicating the candidate’s position as Head of a University Hospital Service or Head of Department for Professors in the basic medical specialties, signed by the Director of the University Hospital, showing the date of appointment and the end date of the role.
    • A detailed Curriculum Vitae showing all the pedagogical and scientific activities carried out since the appointment as University Hospital Professor or Professor.
    • An administrative certificate proving the absence of any disciplinary sanctions throughout the candidate’s career, signed by the Director of the university institution where the candidate was retired.
  2. Pedagogical and Scientific Production:
    • Copies of international scientific publications.
    • Copies of national scientific publications.
    • Copies of conference proceedings or scientific papers.
    • Patents certificates from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Algerian National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI).
    • Technological productions.
    • National and international research projects (with proof of the candidate’s role as project leader or member).
    • Published books with their ISBN number (e.g., from the Office of University Publications, Springer, etc.).
    • Other relevant scientific works or publications.
  3. Pedagogical Record:
    • A detailed report of the teaching activities carried out by the candidate since their appointment as University Hospital Professor or Professor, certified by the Dean of the Faculty.
    • Supervision of Master’s theses and PhD dissertations: This includes the role of Thesis or Dissertation Director. Only those theses and dissertations that have been defended will be considered. A copy of the first page of the PhD dissertation or Master’s thesis, along with the defense minutes, must be submitted.
  4. Scientific Outreach and Social Impact:
    • Participation in training and research activities.
    • Organizing national and international conferences as a member of a scientific committee.
    • Membership in committees or councils in institutions outside the candidate’s home institution.
    • Establishment of scientific associations, scientific companies, or humanitarian organizations.
    • Receiving national or international non-academic awards.
    • Involvement in the creation of start-ups, innovative projects, or subsidiary economic companies within the institution.
