The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) hosts the prestigious ”Green Talents – International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development” to promote the international exchange of innovative green ideas. The award, under the patronage of Minister Anja Karliczek, honours young researchers each year. The winners come from numerous countries and scientific disciplines and are recognised for their outstanding achievements in making our societies more sustainable.

The African Union Commission, with the support of the European Union, has launched the 2018 Open Call for Proposals of the 2nd Phase of the African Union Research Grant on February 23, 2018.

This call for proposal supports Africa’s Science Technology and Innovation Strategy-2024 which addresses the aspirations identified under Agenda 2063 and Priority 3 on Human development of the EU-Africa partnership. The call supports research on: Food, Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture (FNSSA) with particular attention on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition.

The MENA Scholarship Programme (MSP) offers scholarships to professionals for short courses in the Netherlands.

Following publication of the subsidy and policy outline in the Staatscourant, the start of the MENA Scholarship Programme will be confirmed.


The overall aim of the MSP is to contribute to the democratic transition in the participating countries. It also aims at building capacity within organisations by enabling employees to take part in short courses in the Netherlands.
